Damien Garcia

Damien Garcia of San Diego is the recipient of the Douglas W Masson Memorial Scholarship, generously funded by Affirmed Housing and Compass for Affordable Housing. With this scholarship, he pursued his passion for drones by taking a variety of our classes with Sensofly! Starting with the Drones 101 Intro class, he learned how to pilot a drone with precision, gaining a deep understanding of the principles and safety measures involved. During the Drones 201 photography class, I paid a visit down to San Diego where he had so much fun learning new techniques while capturing stunning footage of cliffs at La Jolla Cove. Currently, he is diligently studying for the Part 107 commercial drone license through our online Drones 107 class. He will be wrapping his up  with drone mapping and video editing. He is passionate about social causes like Lyme disease awareness and affordable housing and generously volunteers to fly his drone for events that support those initiatives. It has been a joy teaching Damien and I am inspired by his compassion to use his drone skills for good.
