Drones 151: FPV Fundamentals

First Person Video is an exciting high paced style of drone flying that is typically used for racing or to capture daredevil style shots. Get the thrill of flying up to 100mph while competing with others. Fly through gates and perform acrobatic flips. Film in tight spots with a cinewhoop.

As FPV drones are typically custom made and break often from inevitable crashes, this class also covers the fundamentals skills needed to fix drones (identifying and purchasing parts, installing, soldering). This course is spread over several sessions held in both classroom and field settings.

We will start off with a lecture on: FPV Overview, Example FPV drones, Components

Then talk about Drone Racing League (DRL) rules, FPV Simulator, Flight Modes.

After our lecture, we will get out on the field to practice! Fly through gates, Drills, Betaflight Tuning Software

Lastly, we will talk about build drones, repair parts, choosing components, and soldering skills.
