Drones for Kids

Fly

Learn the basics on how to operate a drone. Take these skills and use them to fly any drone!

Code

Use scratch block programming to write commands for the drone. Run the code and watch the drone fly autonomously!

Compete

Put your skills to the test. Fly your drone through an obstacle course both manually and autonomously.

FAQs

Does my child need to buy a drone?

Nope. Drones are included in the class fee. However do note that drones are for use just during the class and the child does not keep the drone after the class. We do sell the drones used in class (any other types) if interested

How difficult is the programming?

We use scratch (free open source) for programming. This is designed for kids as it is language agnostic, instead using block programming instead. This means kids with no experience with programming will still be able to learn and code the drone.

How safe will my kids be around the drones?

Very safe. The drones in this class are only 3 oz (89 grams) and have propeller guards to protect from abrasions. The motors automatically stop upon impact. Furthermore, during autonomous missions, the drone will only be operated in a dedicated area protected by netting. See a video demonstration
